Rare Frederick Davis sterling silver and turquoise pin designed and signed (c.1930) by Taxco and Mexico City artist Fred Davis(1880-1961). Large 3 1/4"L. stylized brooch comprised of heavy sterling silver, accented with a turquoise eye. Davis was a contemporary of William Spratling and Antonio Pineda. This pin design is pictured in SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Stamped with the Davis conjoined FD, SILVER MEXICO on the reverse. Pin back and lock work perfectly. Notice the F and D worked into the bottom fins of the design. Beautiful condition with no repairs.
