Rare, vintage, hand constructed 1930's Art Deco sterling silver and amethyst bracelet designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Frederick W. Davis(1880-1961). Signed FD SILVER MEXICO the bracelet has a wearable length of 6 3/4" and is 1" wide. The silver links and 5 hand carved amethyst stones are all in beautiful condition. The two terminals smoothly slide into each other forming a stunning amethyst closure. Clasp is tight and secure. Fred Davis works are featured in the permanent 20th century Mexican silver collection recently established at Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Author Penny Morrill has written about and featured Davis in several of her books on Mexican silver including WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE.
