Beautiful pair of amethyst, turquoise and sterling silver earrings designed and signed circa 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist Matilde Poulat. Poulat signed her designs Matl, a variation of the Aztec word for water. The earrings measure 2 1/4 inches long X 1 1/4" wide at the bottom. Each earring is comprised of 3 hinged panels and are bezel set with 3 pyramid shaped amethysts and 11 turquoise cabs. The pair weigh 1 oz. or 30grams. The original screwbacks were replaced by a previous owner with clip on findings. Each signed Matl. Beautiful condition with no chips or cracks.
