Iconic pair of vintage, handmade sterling silver pins or brooches designed and signed circa 1930 by Taxco and Mexico City artist Frederick W. Davis(1880-1961). Each pin measures 2 1/4" high. The pair weigh 37 grams, 1.03 oz. Each pin is signed on the back with the Fred Davis conjoined FD, SILVER, MADE IN MEXICO. Both in beautiful condition. Early C clasp pin backs are tight and secure. This 3 dimensional, sculptural pair of pins are pictured on page 29 of MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk. Highly collectible, it's rare to find this couple as a pair. Fred Davis designs are included in the permanent collection of 20th Century Mexican silver at LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
