Sterling silver clamper bracelet designed and signed in the 1950's by Taxco, Mexico artist Margot Van Voorhies Carr(1889-1985). Margot signed her designs Margot De Taxco. Bracelet measures 2 1/2" high in the front center. Measures 5 3/4 interior when closed but opens to 6 3/4" as needed because of spring hinge. Weighs 68 grams, 2.4 oz. Hallmarked MARGOT DE TAXCO eagle 16 STERLING MADE IN MEXICO pattern n. 5410. Beautiful condition with no dents or dings. Spring hinge is tight and secure. Gorgeous patina. This bracelet was featured in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and is pictured on p. 50 of the book of the same title by Penny Morrill where it is referred to as "Swirls and Beads".
