Striking and unusual this vintage sterling silver and amethyst ring was designed and signed circa 1940's by Taxco, Mexico & American artist William Spratling(1900-67). Ring is accented with two gold or copper dots on either side. Ring is a size 7. The beautiful amethyst stone is free of nicks, chips or cracks. The silver has no dents or dings. Normal surface wear for it's age. Fully hallmarked on inside of ring as shown. Spratling designs are a major focus of the permanent 20th Century Mexican Silver collection at Los Angeles County Museum Of Art - LACMA.
