Fantastic & rare this 1930's Art Deco sterling silver & amethyst bracelet & earrings set was designed and signed in Mexico by artist Frederick "Fred" Davis(1880-1961). Bracelet measures 1 3/4 inches wide with an interior length of 6 7/8 inches. Comprised of 44 luminous bezel set cabochon amethyst gems arranged in rows accented with small silver beads. The rows of stones are framed by 12 sterling silver bars. The matching earrings measure 1 3/4" long & 3/4" wide. Gorgeous vintage condition. No chips or cracks to stones. No dents, dings or repairs. Slide in clasp and safety chain work perfectly. Each of the three pieces are signed on the back FD SILVER MEXICO. Davis designs were included in the SAMA museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and many of his designs are pictured in the book of the same name by Penny Morrill. Frederick Davis designs are prominently featured in the permanent 20th Century Mexican Silver Collection in the Latin American wing at Los Angeles County Museum of Art - LACMA.
