Striking and rare this sterling silver & gold bracelet was designed & signed circa 1940's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The cuff is 1 3/4" wide in the front tapering to 1 1/4 at the back. Interior measures 4 1/2" end to end with a 1 1/2" opening. Weight- 80 grams, 2.8oz. Beautifully constructed of sterling with 6 applied gold dots and a thick raised silver band across the middle. Exquisite vintage condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Some tarnish present on close inspection which is to be expected on a piece 70 + years old. Fully hallmarked on the reverse. This design was featured in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and pictured on p.234 in the book of the same name by Penny Morrill.
