Sensational vintage 1940's sterling silver & black velvet necklace designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86). The necklace measures 16 wearable inches long. The center silver panel is 1 1/2" high. Weight - 84 grams, 3 oz. Fully hallmarked on the clasp HA STERLING MADE IN MEXICO. Beautiful condition with no dents or dings. Slide in clasp is tight and secure. The velvet band has been professionally replaced as the original was very worn. Aguilar designs are featured in the 20th Century Mexican silver collection in the Latin American Wing at Los Angeles County Museum of Art - LACMA.
