This vintage wearable work of art comprised of sterling silver, turquoise and amethyst was designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Matilde Poulat in the 1950's before her passing in 1960. Poulat signed her designs MATL. The necklace is 1 1/2" wide and 17 wearable inches long. Timeless in design the necklace looks fantastic with formal or casual wear. Gorgeous condition with no issues the necklace weighs 135 grams or 4.8 oz. Slide in clasp is tight and secure. Hand made the necklace has 39 carved pyramid shaped amethysts enhanced with exquisite bezel set turquoise stones. Fully hallmarked on reverse including the eagle 129. Matl designs are featured in the permanent early 20th Century Mexican silver collection at Los Angeles County Museum of Art - LACMA.
