| A stunning practical example of fine Thai Lacquerware. The process is centuries old and includes a minimum of seven coats of Asian lacquer in thickness over a bamboo mesh base. Each layer is hand smoothed with a water and abrasive process to a fine gem finish. The decorative gold leaf is applied by the artist and then clear coated and water smoothed over to give you a glass like finish that at one time was only available to royalty.
