Unusual & scarce 8 sided (most are 6 sided) vintage sterling gambling device called "PUT AND TAKE." Carried in the pocket by men who could initiate a gambling game almost anytime and anywhere, and could be played by any number of 2 or more men. It's an easy game that was a popular form of spontaneous gambling. These devices came in a variety of sizes and materials; brass being the most common and sterling being quite rare and desirable.
