They don’t come much better than this example, even the shoe is solid silver. Inscribed on the lid Manxman. Each part is hallmarked for Birmingham 1903 with maker’s initials L.B & M. The lid is detached and there is no glass liner for the inkwell. Neither of these detract it from being displayed. A truly impressive piece, one of the best I have seen. Height 7cm by 14cm

A lovely unrestored example which is the best way to acquire one of these iconic a highly decorative pieces. The saddle has been professionally restored and it has had the hair replaced. This lovely pair are of square tapering form, hollow, the top borders are decorated with carved swags and flower motif. In good original condition, one or two age related marks, one is slightly paler in colour than the other due to sunlight exposure. This interesting salver is silver plate on copper with a silver armorial roundel inserted to the centre. It is of shell and scroll design raised on three knurl feet. A lot of the silver has worn away due to many years of servants regularly polishing. I purchased this from Mark Latham a friend for many years.
