This Lovely Cobalt Blue transitional period stem cup was made at the end of Ming, beginning of the Quing Dynasty. These cups would have been made for Export to South East Asia and were sold to the Christies sale 'The Hatcher Cargo' March 1984. A nice rich cobalt Blue with interior border to the rim. One of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in, a lovely rakish angle wide spreading armrests with enough room for your gin and tonic whilst watching the sun go down on your ever growing tea plantation. Covered in quality green velour which would benefit the chair by being replaced along with a few screws to the underside. A wonderful reminder from the days of Rudyard Kipling and The British Empire.

The body of this rare enamelled spittoon is painted with peony tree issuing from rockwork. The interior rim depicts panels of riverscape scenes, one of a foliate design and the other of a seated boy looking out across the river. There were only 26 of these in the entire Cargo and the majority I believe were damaged. This fine dish shows two geese within a floral waterscape scene. The outer rim depicts a border of Aster plant and precious objects. There are stylized symbols to the underside rim.
