This icon on panel depicts the Virgin and Child. The young Christ is making a sign of peace with
a hand that appears somewhat out of proportion. However, the utter charm shines through and
outweighs any technical paints.
I always wonder if only it could talk.

Two 18th Century Russian Icons from Sebastopol 1855 Crimean War.
These two historic Russian Icons were taken by an officer from a church in
Sebastopol on the 9th of September 1855 hours before the Russian defeat.
The smaller on bears an old typed label verso ‘A Russian IKon’? 18th Century

Victorian Bone Letter Opener/Page Turner.
This very well made example is quite a rarity
because either side of the handle are implements
used to trim quill pens.

Antique Ox Bone Lion Walking Stick Handle.
This finely carved piece depicts a snarling lion which looks really lifelike. There are two yellow collars either side of a length of Malacca.
A lovely, tactile piece.

This Beautifully carved blotter dates back to British Colonial times in India.
It comes apart so that one can insert the blotting paper.
In good condition save for a small loss on the knob.
Just imagine the interesting and perhaps historic letters this piece has blotted.
