This large ebony box is beautifully inlaid with quill and bone detailing. Inside there are nine lidded compartments presented within a removable tray. Further detailing to the inside of the lid can be seen in the photographs. This box is in good original condition, the odd piece of bone detailing is missing, only noticeable upon close inspection. This really is a lovely piece. It is a rich honey coloured Mahogany with fan marquetry to the lid front and corners, there are two brass carrying handles at each end. The lid opens with a double fall front. The box is inlaid with deep red morocco leather with gilt tooling. The box unfolds to reveal a writing slope. This lovely jewellery box is modelled in the shape of a Sulcata Tortoise. This lid opens to reveal a compartment surrounded by marquetry, the lid bears the initials REJ. There is a lock but no key. The box is made of specimen hardwoods and the drawer opens to reveal ten shaped and lidded compartments. A real quirky piece. I have never seen one like it. In fact, itís probably unique Size: 36.5cm

I really do love this most attractive cabinet. This beautiful cabinet has three long drawers with brass ring handles enclosed by two doors above a larger lower drawer, standing on ebonised turned, round feet.
