These most rare and interesting pieces were originally thought by experts to be childrens chamber pots, but through research into the VOC (Dutch East India Company) records revealed that they were especially ordered to be used after someone had indulged a large meal the vomit pot would come out from under the table! Because some of the pattern was put on over the glaze, it has been eroded by the sea. Never the less it is still visible in ghost form.Size:Height: 8 1/2 cm Width: 18 1/2 cm.The Nank ...click for details

A fine pair of "silver shaped"suce boats. A silver sauce boat would of been sent from Europe to China with instructions to reproduce it in porcelain and this is the result. These handsome pieces painted with magnolia a chrysanthemum and flowering peach on the outside with a peony on the inside. The interpretation of the pattern differs because they were all hand painted by different artists. Both come with the original christies lot numbers. The Nanking cargo is the most famous of the s ...click for details

'Moon Gazing Hare' pattern. This lovely saucer dish depicts a crouching hare gazing at the full moon set in a pine glade with flowers and foliage. The underglaze of the dish is cafe au lait (Batavian) glaze. The brown marks on this saucer are the rust residues of the ships, these of course could be removed but I find it more exciting to know that part of the sunken ship is left on this saucer. The saucer dish is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It comes with the Soth ...click for details
