This blue and white spoon is decorated with a stylised octopus like creature amongst seaweed. Painted on the exterior with three plants. This rare blue, white and enamelled spittoon is painting with tree peony issuing from rockwork on the globular body and has a band of petals around the broad conical neck. It’s interior with a border of trellis pattern. There were only eighty of this type in the whole Nanking Cargo and I believe some were damaged. There are faint traces of pattern that remain in ghost form. This is because during manufacture, the coloured enamels were applied on top of the glaze. This charming little Vietnamese blue and white Jarlet depicts birds in flight, alternating with foliage. There is a petal design around the neck within two blue lines. Pieces from this 15th Century Cargo are becoming extremely rare. This is the first and the only piece of this size that I have had. In very good condition no chips or cracks. Size: 5.5 cm tall

This lovely stem cup was made at the end of the Ming beginning of the Quing dynasty. Decorated with a Dragon in rich underglaze Blue. The cup is in very good condition. These cups would have been made for export to South East Asia and were sold at the Christies sale 'The Hatcher Cargo' March 1984. This vase is especially interesting because it was a personal gift from Captin Michael Hatcher to Dorrian Ball an associate and who raised the famous Diana Cargo.
