It is freely painted with stylised Landscape, Plants and flowers. There is a ring of underglaze bizenit around the centre of the interior. This is one of the best provincial pieces that I have seen. This particular piece has an interesting story to it, insomuch that it was given by CaptinMichael Hatcher to his collegue and friend Dorrian Ball with whom he worked. Dorrian went on to discover and salvage 'The Diana Cargo' c1817.

This Large, Blue & White Pottery bowl depicts a central medallion of a Crane standing in a river surrounded by Reeds and Foliage, within three circles, the edge has a Trellis border. The outside is painted with what I think are Four Lillies between Four pairs of swimming Cranes. The foot has the remains of grit from the Kilm. This bowl is quite freely painted, the glaze is crazed and has a dull thud, all a bit crude. Personally I think it is a charming piece with great character. Si ...click for details

Freely painted with a riverscape within double lines. 12cm in Diameter. The Vung Tau was discovered in 1989 by a Vietnamese fisherman trawling the sea-bed for shellfish. Con Dao Island was one of the last fresh-water refuelling stops for ships making their way to the north-western islands of Indonesia.
