| This lovely watercolour is painted beside a river in France. The ancient arched bridge spans the river leading to a town with its pretty pastel washed walls with red tiled or slate roofs. The church with its spire piercing the sky, at the top of the hill is a medieval castle mostly in rains. There are figures beside the river and on the bridge. The trees have the colours of early Autumn. It is signed in the lower right hand corner G.Hamilton Constance. It is framed in a recent professionally gilded wood. The frame with a quirky double wash line mount which also bears the artists name. I estimate the picture was painted around 1925. It is in excellent condition and will be a pleasure to own.
