| 19th Century Mahogany Apprentice Miniature Chest with Tonbridge Banding. This very attractive, little chest of drawers are on bracket feet. The dawers are veneered in a rich Flame Mahogany with Tonbridge ware crossbanding, the edges with Boxwood stringing. The Brass handles are good quality with pierced backplate, I would guess the original round knobs were replaced around one hundred and thirty years ago. The drawers are lined with Blue velvet and the sides are plain. The condition is as one would expect for a piece of around one hundred and eighty years old. The back board has the usual splits, unseen when displayed. A truly lovely little piece, one of the nicest Miniature apprentice chests that I have seen for a long time. Height 21.5" x Depth 22" | |||||
