19th Century Victorian Colonial Indian Campaign Chest
19th Century Victorian Colonial Indian Campaign Chest. This most interesting Teak and Brass bound campaign chest was made in India around 1848. Fitted with an arcaded interior to the lid and an array of carved lidded compartments and lift out trays. The front is fitted with a long drawer for pens etc. The chest stands on a shaped apron and has bracket outline feet. An attractive carved pattern to the front, obviously there is an amount of wear and tear as to be expected as these pieces were always on the move. A great piece from the days of the Raj. 24x35x20”inches 61x90x50cm
