Gouache Nave School hope I get a crumb by Maud Bullen
Gouache Nave School 'I hope I get a crumb' by Maud Bullen 1906-1993. Utterly charming is the only way that I can describe this lovely British Nave school watercolour by Maud Bullen. Depicting a bitterly cold winters day, the farmhand beside a lively fire toasting bread, a cast iron pot boiling the water, one solitary robin patiently hoping and waiting for a crumb or two. A charming composition of the Naive school. Signed lower right M Bullen, inscription verso 'I hope I get a crumb' Maud Bullen 1906-1993. Watercolourist, born and lived in Dorking, Surrey, a physically handicapped Naive artist, studied with Ursula Hulme MBE NRD FPS RA at Brentwood Occupational Therapy Centre at Fetcham. Ehibitions at the Mall Galleries, New Metropole Arts Centre in Folkstone and Best of British Naive Artists at the Lyric Theatre, Member of the free Painters and Sculptures. A detailed biography complied by Ursula Hulme and Barbara Bullen is now available to voew (Source David Buckman, Artists in Britain Since 1945). Size 52.5 by 76.5cm At the moment it is unframed but I can have it framed at extra cost.
