Oil Painting By G.Mortimer 'A Norfolk Windmill'
This lovely East Anglian scene is painted on board, showing two heavy horses drawing a plough under the autumn skies. It is interesting to note the small fields which have long since disappeared. I like this painting because the suitable shades of the field’s looks like a patchwork quilt. Geoffrey Mortimer was Born in 1895 and Died in 1986. I would imagine that he painted this scene from life in the mid 1930's. It is signed in the lower right hand corner G. Mortimer. I have had this picture in my collection for around Forty years. It is in good condition, complete with Gilt and Ivory wood frame. Size including frame: 34cm by 43cm Image only: 26cm by 35cm
