A charming scene of the Louvre, Paris in late summer
David Wood was born in Scotland on January 5th 1933. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art and later at the slade School in London. He exhibited in places such as the Royal Society of British Artists, Colchester Art Society, The Minories in Colchester, the John Russell Gallery in Ipswich and Chappel Galleries in Essex. He was a member of the Ipswich Art Club where he exhibited from Gould House, Royal Square, Dedham 1990, three pictures ‘The Market Lisbon’, ‘Medina Tangiers’ and ‘Backyard Mineapolis’. A well-known painter and printmaker, his work can be seen in collections within the Royal College of Art and the Atkinson Gallery, Southport. David Wood lived for many years in Dedham and died November 13th 1996.
