A Charming Pebble Jade Carving of Qing Dynasty
Description: A charming pebble jade carving of a tiger, cat or Huan was masterly done in mid-Qing period. Crouching with her head resting on her front paws, she raised her left leg tickling the cheek when the long tail curling tightly to the side. The fluent lineation work and excellent carving skill depicted the cat in a vivid way. By the warm brownish patina due to the pebble’s natural encrustation, the long time of incursion and some of the traditional dying work, the jade piece expressed itself with attractive atmosphere. The greasy stone luster can not be resisted but to holding it in your palm. There is a perforation drilled between the tickling leg and the head. It made us to believe that it was a hanging piece for fondling. Also by her quite good size, it can be as a display item that being settled in your treasury cabinet. Date: Qing Dynasty(16th century), Dimension: 5.8 x 4.1 x 2.3
