Description: A small incense burner like this one are often called as "fondling censer" by local connoisseurs. From its lovely size, people can easily put it in palms to feel the warmth and enjoy the aroma emitted from the burning Chen-Xan (high-class incense). By its crackled condition, the retrospective luster of the glaze and the obvious reddish tint on the unglazed grey body clay, this Longquan censer can be easily dated as a Ming piece. In perfect condition except for one minor firing-caused crack line near the foot ring, the censer was warped a little bit but was exaggerated in the picture. Actually it was only an illusion caused by the obvious molding lines on the wall. Kiln residues were preserved at the unglazed body clay. Numerous glaze bubbles were squeezing to each other on the surface. Late Yuan to Early Ming period(13th-15th century), Width: 6.8cm, Height: 4.8cm.
