| Description: A blue and white plate was beautifully painted with unique Tang-style motif of sea weeds, tendrils and flowers. By vibrant and flourishing patterns, the painter show his craftsmanship in an excellent way. From a close look, the glaze surface was reflected with foggy effects which were caused by incursions. It also happened to the white-glazed back on which yellowish tint was therefor yielded. Those are the evidences of a burial piece. On the sharpened edge of the foot ring, subtle kiln-red effects were rendered due to firing. Blackish-blue tint were accumulated at the tips of the brush strokes. They were also the characteristics of wares from Ming to early Qing period. A barely recognized red imprint of a series number which was supposed from ex-collection units was left on the bottom near foot ring for proving its provenance. A custom-made silk box was included. Date: early Qing period(16th-17th century), Width: 19.7cm. | ||||||||
