Description: A bronze paper weight was joyfully in a subject that most welcomed by Chinese people. "Si Xi" Four Joys- Fu (wellbeing), Lu (prosperity), So (longevity), Si (joys) were symbolized by four laughing boys. Intriguingly designed by traditional craftsman, only two boys instead of four were in the combination. A kind of delusion would add some fun for the literati in their boring study room. Actually the puzzler can be a fine stationery which was in the practical use. By the fine quality of metal, the bronze piece was well casted and carved with detailed decoration. Limbs and toes were vividly rendered in a natural look. Date: Qing Dynasty(AD18th/19th), Dimensions: 7.0cm x 5.7cm x 2.5cm. Weight: 200g, Condition: Perfect except some abrasions due to age and a minor original cast defect at the center of the the bottom.
