A Joyful Jade Carving of Ming Dynasty(15th-16th C.)
Description: A handsome jade piece was in a joyful subject- A Boy Having Fun With a Goose. A popular subject as this piece was very well rendered by excellent jade carving maneuvering skill. In a greyish white tint which was the typical characteristic of the dated nephrite jade quality, the jade pebble was in quite good size by which the boy was depicted in fine details on the facial features and on the cloth. Holding with two stalks of lotus flowers and tapping the goose beside him, he bowed in cute facial expression when one of his foot knelt down to the ground. At the bottom, fine depicting lines of the boy's foot and the goose's claws were done perfectly on the blackish original encrustation of the jade pebble. By no-doubt iconographic characteristics, the well-known subject of the stated date and the unique jade quality, this jade piece can be affirmatively dated as from Ming Dynasty of 15th-16th century. An exhibition piece with such a good size can be well as a decent scholar jade weight on the desk and a display item or a precious curiosity in your cabinet as well. Condition: Perfect. Dimensions: 7.0cm(H) x 5.7cm x 3.7cm
