| Description: A Jizhou water dropper was finely molded in an elegant shape. By a tortoiseshell glaze on the surface, the ewer was revealed with brick-red body clay at the bottom. Obvious burial earth which had be caused by incursions was adhered to the glaze-top and were yielded as cellular-like condition. The stable and harden condition verified the enduring burial age. And the web-like crackles were spread under the glaze all over the place. It added more mood to this charming ewer. Usually here it is the body clay which was in brick-red tint rather than the usually seen buff tint. That was unique too. From the over all incursive condition yielded on the surface, the old feel body clay, the characteristic glaze type and especially-the fluent molding craftsmanship done by the rural potters of the old dates, this ewer stood by itself an ancient ware in full assurance. Date: Southern Song Dynasty(12th-13th century). Height: 10,3cm. Condition: Perfect. | |||||||||||||||
