Description: A lovely Jun tripod censer was mold finely by grayish blue glaze. A purple splash was on the mouth rim as an interesting look. In a good shape of bulge belly, elongated neck and flat rim, the censer was supported by three hand squeezed feet. Rolled, twisted and squeezed to adhere to the bottom, the feet were intriguingly made by the affluent-skilled potters, some finger prints were then left-a joyfully find for Minyao wares. The spiral molding mark was left at the bottom. Some similar pieces in the same lovely sizes were published in the book of an exhibition at the University Museum and Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong. Height: 6.1cm. Date: Jin/Yuan periods(12th/13th century). |
