A unique Japanese scholar item of the Meiji period consisting of three well-carved seals incorporated in a miniature mountain-shaped suiseki or scholar’s rock. The mottled, dark-green, jasper-colored stone has been cut horizontally to provide surfaces for three well-carved seals in archaic style seal script. The bottom section, having two flat sides, is a two-sided seal, while the upper, peaked section has been carved as one seal on the flat underside...
