BURKINA-FASO: A HEAVY BRONZE AFRICAN ANKLET (“ankle bracelet”), Burkina-Faso of the Gurunsi group probably Bwa and/or Lobi tribes. Of narrow elliptical shape, flaring upward at each end. Excellent patina and condition. Smoothed from wear, without the crisp edges one might find on a newly cast piece. Dimensions: 13 cm (5-1/4”) x 9 cm (3-1/2”) and weighing 398 grams (14.1 ounces). 19th to early 20th century.
