| A VERY OLD MIDDLE EASTERN COPPER MILK BOWL of circular form with flared sides and a slightly concave bottom. The hammered copper (see photo of underside) has been lined with tin for actual use, much of which has worn off from the inside of the vessel. An authentic piece dating from the late 19th to the very early 20th century. There are no manufacturer’s marks. With expected allover wear from use, it is nevertheless in good condition without losses or repairs. The horizontal lining on the copper was probably to facilitate the adhesion of the tin and not decorative. Dimensions: diameter of base 26.5cm (10-1/4”); diameter of mouthrim 19.5cm (7-3/4”); weighing 2lbs 14.7 ounces (1kg 325g). | ||
