This is Tsutsugaki used for wedding ceremonies in Shiga at the end of the Edo era. Because there is not purple of the chemical dye in Shiga Tsutsugaki, this is the Edo era. This is tender cotton spun by hand in Kyoto of the feel woven carefully. This cotton was used for a high-quality article. In every area, the putting design on kimono pattern of the circle crest is a requirement of the upper circle crest pattern. The Yukiwa crest expresses that two marrying families will become the good harvest. Other Marumon prays for the happiness of a noble, the relative. And the gaiety of the season is drawn. The pattern of the circumference is called Dandara crest, the chevron. This is a pattern used for the clothes of the member of Chuusinngura and Sinsengumi. The triangle expresses water and is the pattern which fire prevention was prayed for in this. It was for a good wedding ceremony. They strongly prayed for obtaining good luck and protecting good luck by a shield of the water. This is the design which it was strongly prayed that they protect good luck from a fire. People of Oomi are cautious. Hear twice before you speak once. This is the item that happiness was strongly pursued. There are none elsewhere.
