This is Sashiko Hanten which the leader of certain occupation group of Edo period wore. A technique to be called very high Sagara embroidery is used for this. This embroiders all by hand. The cotton thread used for embroidery is spun by hand. The thread is dyed with plant dye. It is clothes to identify social position promptly even if anyone looks. The part of the collar has a kanji of Toudori. Toudori meant the president of bank in the present age, but was used for a name of the head of various organizations early in the late Tokugawa period, the Meiji era. It was collected from the area that respected this spider in Akita. Some lines of the draft stay, but hardly attract attention. There are no damage. Cotton used for lining is imported cotton called Kanakin. It is dyed with thin green plant dye. It has the stain such as the image. Size: 107cmx128cm (42.1 "x 50.3 “))
