Dutch Brass Mortar FRIEZE Bowl "HENRICK TER HORST 1607"
A FRIEZE BRASS MORTAR BOWL DATING FROM THE 17TH CENTURY. This appears to be a Bronze/Brass, double-handled, Dutch Mortar from the 17th Century. It is an authentic piece from the late Renaissance Period! It is very heavy, weighing 9.2 pounds. Dimensions: 7.5" wide x 5" height The outer upper rim displays the words "HEINRICK TER HORST RECIT ANNO 1607" inscribed in raised lettering. Below the upper are 2 decorative Frieze Bands The upper band shows a Flemish bas- relief of Fleur de Lis and foliage. The lower band has a Flemish bas-relief of putti, foliage birds and other animals
