A fine and rare arts and crafts oak framed PYROGRAPHY WOOD BURNED PANEL of Major General McClellan of the U.S. Army by Ball Hughes and dated Jan 22, 1862. Framed size: 22"hx14"w; Site: 20"h x 12". Boston Jan 22, 1862 After twenty years of collecting pyrography, this is the ONLY pyrographic wood burned image of McClellan I have ever had the pleasure of viewing or owning. Ball Hughes was an important professional wood burning artist working in the 19th century and I know of no more than a couple dozen works of art executed by Hughes in existence...his work is that hard to find! I am selling this treasure because we have moved to a new home and storage is becoming burdensome. This lovely fine art work deserves a new home and owner! Delivery is possible anywhere in New England and New York/Philadelphia regions with advance notice.
