Here's a beautiful and serene way to accent your indoor art space or outdoor garden space with this rare Buddhist treasure from Japan....
Our antique 19th century Standing Jizo Bosatsu was hand carved by an ancient stone specialist and crafted with hands forming the gassho adoration mudra. It is sculpted in relief from a gray volcanic stone. It is signed and is associated with road and pathway installations as protection for travelers! This work of art is in good condition with minor softening of lines and contours overall.
Dimensions: 15" high and 7" wide and 5" depth
Provenance: very old Fukuoka garden collection
This beautifully sculpted sculpture would make an ideal "conversational" choice for any intimate indoor or outdoor installation. See our entire collection of these fabulous sculptural treasures installed beside an old Japanese shrine which will be on exhibit during this summer's Maine Summer Exhibition "Treasures from Asia".
Schneible Fine Arts has been dealing in authentic Japanese antique garden ornaments, lanterns and water basins for many years. Mr. Schneible personally travels to Japan each year to meet his network partners who assist him in finding best examples. He personally inspects each antique ornament to ensure its old age, authenticity, and quality condition. After accumulating a group, they are imported to Vermont and Maine in large containers. This method keeps shipping costs low and enables us to offer them to you at reasonable prices. We carefully pack and ship to clients all over the USA and at reasonable shipping costs.
LIFETIME GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY: All of our Asian works of art come with our Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee.
We are members of the North American Japanese Garden Association (NAJGA) specializing for ten years now in old and authentic Japanese stone garden ornaments.
