It measures 23 inches by 22 inches.

There were 11 Royal Navy Fiji Class Cruisers 2 were sunk during the war (HMS Fiji & HMS Trinidad).

The Cruiser in the painting is one of the 9 remaining.HMS Newfoundland, HMS Bermuda ,HMS Ceylon ,HMS Gambia, HMS Jamaica,HMS Kenya, HMS Mauritius, HMS Nigeria or HMS Uganda.

There were 3 mysteries (At least there were to me) to this painting. 2 have been solved. The first was the type of ship After a great deal of research I am sure that it is a Fiji Class Cruiser, The second was where was the scene I am pretty sure after going through countless photos it is Mombasa.

I have not solved the most important mystery who the artist is.
