Family Register From 1830 For The Messinger and Holmes Families Of Stoddard New Hampshire

It Contains A Written Eulogy For George Holmes Soldier Of The Revolution & Early Stoddard Settler.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume105 page 5 gives the record of George Holmes.

The name Fanny M. Holmes and the date Jan. 1822 are found on the first page, and later the location of Stoddard, NH is noted. About half of the book is filled with copy book exercises. The last page has a calligraphy of Fanny M. Holmes and the date 1824.

Mentions Marshall MESSINGER born on 16 May 1802 in Stoddard, Cheshire, New Hampshire. He died on 28 Apr 1865. Parents: Samuel MESSINGER and Lavinia BLAKE.
He was married to Fanny Matson HOLMES on 14 Jul 1836. (It was wonderful to find a mention of her)The Messenger House is featured on the Stoddard, NH website (Even More Wonderful To Find That !)

The Family Register & Copy Book has a block printed wallpaper cover of blue and white design incorporating hearts & has 25 hand stitched rag paper leaves (50 pages counting front and back) .It measures 6 inches by 7 inches.

The condition is quite good with some yellowing of the pages and some wear and brown spots on the wallpaper covers.
