From the Hunniwell (Honeywell) family. A collection of original handwritten documents There is a land deed dated 1763 - A will dated 1790 - Another will dated 1793 - & a Genealogical Listing of the family of Elijah Hunniwell (born December 24th 1747) , his wife Rebecca (Lock) Hunniwell, (born Sept 26th, 1748). The fine manuscript of genealogy (Circa 1790), gives the names, and birthdates of their 9 children; Susanna, Hannah, Mary, Anna, William, Lucy, Zerubbabel, Nathaniel, and Patience Hunniwell. The birth dates of the children begin in September of 1777. The very fine manuscript is in red and black ink. The family lived in the village of Windham, MA, which in the 1700’s was part of Cumberland County in Massachusetts, having been formed from part of York County, Maine. Windham, MA is now located in Windham County, Massachusetts. Mr.Elijah L. Hunniwell (middle name Zerubable) bought 20 acres of land from Joseph Howard of Marblehead, Essex County, MA for three Pounds, fourteen Shillings, four Pence on July 3rd, 1763. The land deed identifies the boundaries of this acreage, and is signed by several people including Eliza Skinner, Joseph Howard, Elizabeth Howard and John Bowden. On the certificate Elijah’s last name is spelled Honeywell. Enoch Freeman registered the deed and the other signature on this legal document appears to be that of John Shipman. Mr. Hunniwell signed with an X . In the Will of 1790 Mr. Hunniwell makes provisions for his wife and every one of his children; the sons appear to inherit the land, while the girls each receive several Shillings depending on their ages. The second will written in 1793 is signed by Paul Little, Timothy Little and again with an X for Mr. Hunniwell. The later will and the Genealogy Record are mounted on matting board. The papers contain some edge tears & creases, overall the documents have stood the test of time & are in good condition. There are no shipping, packing or handling charges.
