Charles Pears (1873-1958)
Famous for his Maritime Scenes, He was Official War Artist of The Royal Navy in the 1st & 2nd World Wars & was the 1st President Of The Society of Naval Artists.

His works were exhibited at the Royal Academy. Throughout his career he also worked as an illustrator (Illustrated London News, Punch, The Graphic, etc)

He died in 1958 & is commemorated in a prize at the Royal Society of Marine Artists’ annual exhibition: the Charles Pears Memorial Award.
