| Sterling silver Mizpah pin is a great example of the sentimentality of the period. Mizpah, (a Hebrew word which literally means "watchtower") means "May The Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from another." This pin comprised of two hearts joined by oak leaves (symbolic of faith and virtue) has the above phrase engraved on one heart. It is 1 3/16 inches wide by 3/4 of an inch high. In excellent condition and highly collectible. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1916 with the lion passant for sterling silver. | |||||
