Bracelet by Theresia Hvorslev for Alton, Sweden, 1970
This amazing looking bracelet is so versatile you could wear it with just about anything and it would look great. Theresia Hvorslev designed for Swedish firms Mema and Alton before going out on her own. She still is working and has a studio in Lidköping, Sweden. She has won numerous awards and her work is exhibited around the world. This large crystal (18mm) is centered in a concave hexagonal frame. Below is the mirror image of the frame but is convex so it lays comfortably on your arm. The entire centerpiece is 1 5/8 inches. To open and close you squeeze the armband and the discreet locking mechanism opens underneath the lower frame. Very special piece of jewelry. The marks are very clear and hear is what they mean: Signed Theresia in script, followed by Alton (the manufacturer), the city mark F (for Falkoping), the three crowns (Swedish control mark), S (for silver) and U9 which is the year mark for 1970.
