These Victorian pique earrings are one of the best pair I have seen. They are in excellent condition, which is hard to find and have a very pleasing shape. According to Margaret Flower (Victorian Jewellery, 1951), the art of pique was brought to England in the seventeenth century by the French Huguenots who were fleeing persecution. These beauties are 1 1/8" wide and 1 1/4" long. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear. Pique jewelry was made by hand though mass production started later in the 1870s in Birmingham. These earrings are clearly handmade. Insured Priority mail shipping is $17.90. Outside the U.S., Global priority mail shipping is $5.25. (Insurance is not available with Global priority mail.
