A lovely art nouveau (or jugendstil) 800 silver brooch set with four amethysts from Theodor Fahrner. It is 1 11/16th in diameter and has the original brooch fittings with the pin stem extending just past the edge of the brooch. The amethysts are approximately 5mm each. Marked on the back, TF 800, the designer is unknown. Stylistically similar brooches and pendants are pictured on page 145 of the Fahrner Jewelry book. In particular, pendant 1.138 has the embossed leaves, curling wires and silver beads exhibited in this brooch. In excellent condition and circa 1910-1914.
