This sterling silver Mizpah brooch has an unusual shape. Mizpah, (a Hebrew word which literally means "watchtower") means "May The Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from another." Decorated with oak leaves (bravery, patriotism) and pansies
(loving thoughts) the pin is 1 3/8" wide by 15/16" high. It is marked for Birmingham, 1897 and has the makers mark W.T. I have several other pieces of Mizpah jewelry including pins, rings and a locket. From my home page enter "mizpah" in the search box. |
