Predominately known for his glass and silver, Tapio Wirkkala was something of a golden boy - a highly talented industrial artist who excelled in many media. He was associated with iittala from 1946 until 1985, the year of his death. This vase, engraved with the Tapio Wirkkala signature and design number 3429
is in excellent condition and is 7 inches high. Circa, late 1960s; a related piece from this series is pictured on page 71 of the Scandinavian Glass, Smoke & Ice book by Vigier and Pina. Priority mail shipping rate is determined by zip code and weight and insurance is required. |
